Share your leadership skills with us by volunteering to serve on one of TBTF’s active committees. For more information or to get involved, send a message to volunteer@tbtf.org or call (813) 341-8283 ext. 497. Peer Network Steering Committees Each of the TBTF Peer Networks is governed by a Steering Committee comprised of Network participants. These committees meet at least twice per year to plan Network meetings including the selection of speakers/topics. If you are currently participating in a Peer Network, inquire about opportunities to serve on the Steering Committee. Programming Committee The TBTF Programming Committee, chaired by board member Steve MacDonald, CEO of MyMatrixx, is responsible for delivering high value special events, networks and educational programs to members and strives to advance the overall mission of TBTF. This committee meets at least twice per year to strategize, review plans and evaluate completed programs. The committee is charged with overseeing the Peer Network Steering Committees and major event committees (such as the Annual Awards Gala). In addition, the Committee has oversight of member-wide events such as the TechTrends and Titans of Technology series. For more information, contact Kimberly Wander, Events Manager, at kwander@tbtf.org. Event Ambassadors Committee Looking to expand your network and meet people in the tech community? Then a volunteer position on the Events Ambassador Committee is the perfect opportunity for you. This committee is for energetic and enthusiastic TBTF members that would like to greet attendees at our events, help out at the registration table and simply be a positive representative for TBTF. If you would like to volunteer on this committee, please contact Kimberly Wander at kwander@tbtf.org. Tech Jam Committee The Tech Jam Committee plans all aspects of this “Summer Party With A Purpose” - with all proceeds to benefit the youth in our community through the TBTF Foundation. In 2008, we had more than 1,000 people enjoy an evening of networking, music, food and a fabulous silent auction. Be part of the planning or help out with the event itself. TBTF Foundation The TBTF Foundation, chaired by board member Tony DiBenedetto, CEO of Tribridge, harnesses the collective power of 450+ TBTF member companies to prepare the youth in our community to succeed in the high tech workforce. The TBTF Foundation’s mission is to encourage the youth of our region to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. To that end, the Foundation is focused on three strategic initiatives for 2009: a) the Computer*ific program, which operates computer labs in 20 Tampa Bay area Boys and Girls Clubs, b) Scholarships for middle and high school students, and c) Career Fairs at the middle school level. Community Outreach This committee promotes cooperation between the TBTF and external educational and research institutes, banks, chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, governments and regional and state organizations. Outreach focuses on encouraging an environment supportive of innovation, entrepreneurism and growth of technology companies and companies utilizing technology to provide goods and services. Christopher Paradies, Ph.D., of Fowler White Boggs P.A., is the Chair and is tasked with finding liaison volunteers to meet with the external organizations essential to advancing the strategic goals of TBTF. Responsibility for liaison management has been divided into four categories: Economic Development, Chambers of Commerce, Education/Research Institutions and Community Banks.
